Yards advises a consortium of Franco-Canadian investors on the acquisition of Micromania

Back

ards law firm advised, alongside Canadian law firm Cain Lamarre, a consortium of Franco-Canadian investors in connection with the acquisition of Micromania.

Comprising Stephan Tétrault, Jean-François Chenail, Sandra and Stephen Callahan, this consortium of Franco-Canadian investors acquired Micromania from US-based group GameStop.

With more than 300 stores and a firmly established reputation in France’s video game sector for over 40 years, Micromania is today opening a new chapter in its history with the arrival of its new owners.

Drawing on their experience in the sector, the new owners intend to continue developing Micromania by further diversifying its offering around pop culture, merchandise and trading cards, following the model successfully developed by Stephan Tétrault for EB Games.

The Yards team comprised:

  • M&A: Jean-Philippe Jacob and Patricia Khoury, working closely with Canadian law firm Cain Lamarre (Antoine Michaud-Soret, Aurélia Vallette Grisel and Nancy Désaulniers);
  • Tax: Jérémie Yéni;
  • Employment: Christine Hillig-Poudevigne.

The purchasers were also advised on competition and distribution matters by Leclerc Avocats.
