Yards advises Defacto Technologies in connection with its sale to Siemens AG.

Back

The law firm Yards advised Defacto Technologies, an electronic design automation (EDA) software company, in connection with its sale to Siemens AG.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Grenoble, Defacto Technologies develops software for the automated creation of System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, with a particular focus on Register Transfer Level (RTL) design. Its solutions automate SoC assembly, design restructuring and power intent management, using a unified and persistent design database.

Siemens AG is a leading technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, mobility and healthcare. The Group combines the real and digital worlds to help its customers accelerate their digital and sustainable transformations, while increasing efficiency and competitiveness.

This acquisition expands Siemens’ electronic design automation (EDA) software portfolio by adding tools that address the increasing complexity of system-on-chip (SoC) designs through automated SoC design creation, earlier assessment of implementation feasibility, and integrated verification. Defacto Technologies’ tools complement Siemens’ existing EDA solutions by integrating the SoC design lifecycle into an end-to-end flow, from initial creation through implementation, verification and downstream validation.
