Yards advises WMH Project Group on its OBO in partnership with Société Générale
BackYards advised the WMH Project Group on its Owner Buy-Out (OBO) in partnership with Société Générale
WMH Project is an independent non-media communications group and one of the leaders in France and Europe. Every year, the group deploys more than 1,500 communication systems for corporate and institutional clients in more than 100 countries. With more than 440 employees in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Brussels and Los Angeles, WMH (which stands for We Make it Happen) brings together all the design and production expertise in five areas: Corporate Events, Spatial Design, Incentives & Travel, Public Relations, Digital, Institutions, Healthcare, Luxury, Art, Fashion and Culture, and One Mobility.
WMH Project, a mission-driven company since 2023, was voted responsible communications group of the year in 2024. With a strong increase in turnover, reaching €250 million in 2025 after having increased fivefold in five years, WMH Project confirms its position as a benchmark in the event communication market. SGCP’s entry into the capital as a minority shareholder enables it to support this dynamic while preserving the independence and vision of the group’s founders.
This strategic operation marks a new stage in the group’s expansion and will accelerate the development of WMH Project in France and internationally and strengthen its internal structure. With the aim of doubling its revenues to reach €500 million by 2030, WMH Project aims to strengthen its position as European leader in a sector that is still very fragmented.
The Yards team was composed of: on M&A aspects: Jean-Philippe Jacob and Julien Brouwer (partners), Ghita Bouzoubaa and Lila Roussel (associates); on financing aspects: Maud Gendron (counsel) in cooperation with the Mayer Brown teams; on tax aspects: Dorothée Traverse(partner) and Marin du Repaire (associate).
