Yards advises the founders of Mipsology on its sale to AMD

Back

Law firm Yards has advised the founders of Mipsology, an artificial intelligence (AI) software company, on its sale to AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), a US manufacturer of semiconductors, microprocessors and graphics cards.

Founded in 2015, Mipsology is a start-up specialising in software for accelerating inference processes for artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the interpretation and reaction of computers to photos and videos. In particular, it has developed the Zebra AI accelerator, which connects to neural networks by complementing CPUs/GPUs.

The merger between Mipsology and AMD, who were already partners, will help to accelerate the solutions developed by AMD in components for generative artificial intelligence. Mipsology will join AMD’s AI division, which is developing a suite of software designed to run AI models on the semiconductor manufacturer’s components.

The Yards team comprised Jean-Philippe Jacob, Julien Brouwer and Laurie Martel.
