YARDS accompagne Weinberg Capital Partners
BackYards law firm has supported Weinberg Capital Partners via its WCP Impact Dev #1 fund in its acquisition of a minority stake in Orion Energies, a major French player in the photovoltaic energy sector.
Founded in 2005, Weinberg Capital Partners is an independent investment firm historically active in buyout capital. In 2020, the WCP Impact Dev #1 fund was awarded the “Relance“ label, which recognises funds that are committed to mobilising new resources to support the equity of French companies (SMEs), whether listed or not.
Orion Energies is a major French player in the photovoltaic energy sector, specialising in the development, installation and operation of large–scale photovoltaic solar power plants in France and abroad.
Through this transaction, Weinberg Capital Partners wishes to support Orion Energies in its development and in the definition of its impact strategy in order to address climate and social issues.
This fundraising will allow Orion Energies to intensify its development based on four fundamental commitments: proximity to territories, integrity at the heart of actions, collective energy and daily agility.
The Yards Avocats team was composed of :
On the M&A aspects: Igor Doumenc, Julien Brouwer and Julia Faure
On the tax aspects: Dorothée Traverse, Jeanne–Eve Lepinay and Marin du Repaire
On employment law: Christine Hillig–Poudevigne and Sara Ouarti
Orion Energies was assisted by the law firm Ginestié Paley–Vincent. The team was composed of François Devedjian (partner), Fabienne Kerebel (counsel), and Simon Peyssard (associate).
